“If you’re lucky enough to strike oil, keep digging!” Scaling a company on the sales side is never chasing after a dozen different segments or channels–it’s one or maybe two things that are really working. When you find this, it’s the startup equivalent of striking gold. And if you do strike gold, double down and mine that shaft as deep as you can before distracting your team with other ideas and moving on to something else. Focus for a startup is paramount, and splitting your attention across too many “priorities” will doom you to bankruptcy. This counts as much for sales and customer focus as it does for product development.
